So, now that many of us have our power back attention is turning back to the economic conditions and job searches. One site that may be of help is www.assistance.ky.gov, and it was put together by the state so that all the resources are in one place. This page has links to help you pay your bills, find jobs, sign up for unemployment, food stamps, WIC, or Medicaide. A more comprehensive list of other job resources is coming soon, along with a special computer set aside for learning job-related skills such as typing, using Excel, Word or Powerpoint. Computer classes are available upon request, just ask and we will set up a time for you to learn the things you need to improve your chances of getting a good job. In the meantime check out www.monster.com or www.careerbuilder.com for job listings across the united states.
Federal tax forms are available at the library, and we have state tax forms available for photocopying. The state chose to quit providing printed tax forms to libraries and post offices as a cost-saving measure.
Come on in and let us know what you most need in the way of computer classes!
