Call or drop by today to sign up your 3-5 yo child for storytime this fall. Session starts Tuesday September 14 at 5pm and 6pm.This is a great way to help your child gain a love of books and reading, and gives them some early independence too!

If you are interested in a daytime storytime opportunity please call the library, we are collecting names and numbers of those interested. If there is enough interest we will offer a storytime for Monday at 10:30 am.

September is Library card signup month, so be sure you drop by and get a library card if you don’t have one already! If you haven’t been to the library in the last year or so, we have moved to a yellow and black card that also comes with a tag for your keys, so that you will always have your library card handy, so stop in and get an updated library card.

Also starting this fall will be a teen/tween (10-16 yo) weekly Wii gaming session, so stop by or call for more information or to sign up. Don’t forget, there’s also Chess every Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm, for all ages, drop in and play a game or two.

The library also has a good collection of games and puzzles to keep you occupied while you wait for a friend or family member!

We hope you will all join us for our summer reading program this year. The theme is “Make waves at your library”. We have all sorts of water-themed activities going on throughout the summer for kids, tweens and adults. Be sure you come by and see our water gardens presentation this evening at 5:30, and on Thursday we will host Ruth Ann Fogle with her Juneteenth presentation, also at 5:30 pm.

Anyone of any age may sign up for the summer reading program, and there are many wonderful prizes. We have three movie packages, 2 gift cards for Barnes & Noble, and a Water Toys package. All you have to do is read (anything, print, newspaper, email, etc) for 20 minutes each day. Every time you have accumulated 5 days of reading we will give you a ticket to place in the drawing for the prize you most want to win. Each prize will be awarded to the first person drawn from that group. Summer reading continues from June 1 through July 25, and prizes will be drawn on July 30. Winners will be notified by telephone and posted in the library.
