Washington County Public Library was formed in 1964 with the creation of a taxing district and library board. At that time they sought funds from the state with which to begin purchasing land and to build a library building. We today are in the same building that was built in 1967, and are looking forward to many more good years serving the people of Springfield. We have a knowledgeable and helpful staff and are open 45 hours each week, year round. We have a variety of resources to help you fill your recreational, research and school-project related needs, and will gladly help you learn how to use the computers, microfilm machine or the databases we provide.
